My beautiful Cottage Broad Street

My 37 years in this beautiful house, with wonderful Oak front door and oak wood work through out the house, our beautiful back yard with pool. The front porch with sloped roof and dormer. It was a Sears 1920's kit, build by the people we bought it from. Wonderful memories, like your book, looking at the sunlight shine on those oak floors and the beauty this wonderful house.
I too had a very hard time leaving it.
Now we have a new one floor, I am trying to make into a cottage. Our view is beautiful, but I have gone by the other one. It looks so sad, I had hoped they would love it as I did. Apparently not. My friend tell me all the time how when they go by how sad it looks. Not that I would move back, but I wish it was on this lot where we are now. The joy, Holidays, special 4th of July parties and my sons friends all miss it all.
My mom was so pleased we moved a new house and she loved the view. In joyed helping me pick out colors and where I would place everything. ONly when we were finalized and finally sold our Broad Street house she passed away.
Therefore all memories of the wonderful Holidays are left there.
Our son who was born there was not happy about the move and does not like this home. I am trying to build new memories for all of us.
I enjoyed your book and all the memories of my first house that I still love.
Sincerely
Kay Malone
